Vaco by Highspring has partnered with our client who is looking to hire an Operations Associate to join their teamWhere: Boston, MAHybrid, 3 days onsite/weekPermanent Job Opportunity$125K-$150KPosition SummaryThe Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, fund accounting, valuation support, and operational finance activities for a growing investment management platform. This individual will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting valuation processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple investment vehicles.The position partners closely with teams across Finance, Investor Relations, Valuation, Tax, FP&A, Operations, and Investments. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work. This role offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to contribute to a growing business.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Fund AccountingPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and investor reporting packages. Review and analyze fund performance and prepare management reporting and commentary for senior leadership. Oversee work performed by third-party administrators and service providers to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage capital activity, including investor contributions, distributions, and related reporting. Maintain investment portfolio records and supporting schedules. Monitor investment income, cash flows, and portfolio activity. Perform daily cash management activities, including account monitoring and reconciliations. Coordinate year-end audit activities and serve as a primary contact for external auditors. Valuation & Investment SupportSupport valuation processes across a variety of investment types and asset classes. Assist with valuation reviews, analyses, and documentation in accordance with internal policies and industry standards. Partner with investment and finance teams to ensure valuation inputs and assumptions are appropriately captured and documented. Investor & Cross-Functional SupportCollaborate with Investor Relations to support fundraising efforts, investor reporting, and ad hoc information requests. Partner with Tax teams to support quarterly estimates, year-end allocations, and related reporting requirements. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects and deliverables. Support strategic initiatives, process improvement efforts, and operational enhancements across the finance function. LeadershipProvide mentorship, coaching, and development support to junior team members. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Assist in establishing and maintaining best practices, controls, and scalable processes. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation strongly preferred. 5 years of progressive accounting, finance, or fund accounting experience. Public accounting experience and/or experience within investment management, asset management, private markets, or alternative investments preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and investment accounting principles. Experience supporting valuation processes for private investments is highly desirable. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring junior professionals. Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
