DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position focuses on operating a range of vehicles to support transportation, material movement, and maintenance needs across the facility. It plays a key role in ensuring safe travel, reliable equipment use, and consistent support for day to day operations. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
- Vehicle Operation: Operate passenger cars, vans, buses, and similar vehicles to transport residents and complete facility trips
- Material Transport: Move supplies, mail, equipment, and other items through local and long-distance deliveries
- Maintenance Work: Complete hauling tasks, operate snow removal equipment, and support general maintenance activities
- Equipment Care: Perform safety checks, minor repairs, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on vehicles and tools
- General Tasks: Assist with loading, unloading, record keeping, cleaning work areas, and properly using hand and power tools
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a valid Class C license and use personal protective equipment when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information: - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: - Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement: - You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Additional Requirement: - You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements: - A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
